Today I found an ice cream shop that was selling black ice cream cones.
I've never seen a black ice cream cone before in my entire life.
And as it seemed dozens of other people in line haven't seen a black ice cream cone before either.
Because the ice cream itself wasn't really that special.
So people must have been willing to wait in line for more than ten minutes because of the black ice cream cones.
Or because of the fact that there was a ten minute queue and everybody thought that everybody else knew what they were doing...
Either way.
The fact is that I wanted to taste that black ice cream cone after I saw someone walking on the streets with one.
A few lessons here...
The best marketing is your product itself.
The more it stands out, the easier it catches on.
Very simple.
But not easy to achieve.
Here's another thought...
Sometimes creating something new, something creative or something innovative and ultimately something that works doesn't have to be very complicated.
What's complicated though is to find something new, creative and innovative that actually really works.
And most of the time the more complex, complicated and sophisticated that new thing, the higher the probability that it's probably not going to work out...
