I was terrified of solving math word problems when I was in 6th grade.
As soon as I saw one of them I felt like my IQ immediately dropped by at least 30 points.
I never managed to solve any of them.
I was refusing to think.
Because I wasn't good at it yet.
It was something unusual.
Something my brain wasn't used to.
Something uncomfortable.
Something that forced me to think slowly.
