When you have a job you get paid for showing up.
When you're a freelancer you get paid for doing a specific task.
Over the years we were educated into trading our time for money.
And it's hard to unlearn it.
So whenever we do something we expect something in return.
And because our time is limited we can't trade more of our time.
Unless we get paid more for our time than we're getting paid now.
And this is pretty much the reason why it's so pretty damn hard to work on your own stuff.
Whatever your own stuff is.
That book.
That blog.
That song.
That portfolio.
That business.
When you work on you own stuff you'll mostly get nothing.
And it's hard to prioritize that.
It's hard to prioritize nothing over something.
We all have just a few hours a day and bills to pay.
But over time that nothing might turn into something.
What's your nothing?
