When you feel tired, take a nap.
And don't drink that fifth coffee.
When you want to call her, call her.
And don't wait for her to call.
When you don't want to go to that event, don't go.
And instead go where you really want to go.
When you feel like giving up, give up.
And do something else and apply everything you've learned.
When you don't want to meet him, don't meet him.
And instead meet someone you really care about.
When you're not satisfied with the way things are going, stop those things.
And instead try to work towards a life where you do the things you really want to do.
I know. It sounds simple. Too simple? Maybe. Maybe not...
Life can be so simple. So easy. And yet we tend to make it more and more complicated.
The first couple of years after we're born life is easy. And not complicated. All we do is eat, sleep, poop (or pee), play and go back to sleep.
Then it gets more and more complicated. More and more things to worry about. More and more things to consider. To pay attention to. More and more things making our lives more and more complicated. Responsibilities. More and more stuff to carry...
Until at one point in our lives we realize that it has been easy all along. That life is just a game. That no matter how complicated we make it, that no matter how good or how bad we play, at one point it'll all be over. For all of us. No matter what.
And for some people this realization happens early in life. For others it happens later in life. But when it happens all of that heavy baggage seems to magically disappear. Unfortunately, for some people this realization never really happens.
Try to not be one of them...
And instead make the best out it.
Make it a ride to remember. Make it a story worth telling. A book worth reading. A movie worth watching.
But most importantly, make it your own story. And play your own game. And don't let others play their games on you.
Ok. I have to go now. I’m tired. I’ll take a nap…
