You've got no choice but to be yourself...
We live in a world where everybody is competing with everybody. A world where doing what everybody else out there is doing won't get you anywhere.
Doing what everybody else is doing will only get you to a place where you're competing with everybody else out there.
A competition that's getting tougher and tougher every single day. And having to compete with 7 billion other people is a heck of a competition.
That's why you really have no choice but to be yourself. To be in competition with yourself, only.
Three years ago I decided that I didn't want to compete with everybody else out there anymore. I realized that I couldn't compete with those 7 billion other people out there anymore.
I realized that I just wasn't good at most of the things those people were competing for. I also didn't really care about most of these things.
So I quit my job and went out there on my own. I started competing with myself, only.
I wrote a bunch of books. I wrote a few hundred blog posts. I did a few online courses. I experimented with a podcast. Built dozens of websites.
I didn't know anything about anything. I had to learn everything from scratch. But in the end it all somehow worked out. It took me three years until I stopped losing money every single day.
And the most important thing I learned over those three years is that you have to be frank in your choices.
You have to be frank in what you do.
You have to be willing to seek.
Ultimately, you have to be frank in who you are.
Will any of this help you?
Maybe. Maybe not. Probably not.
But it will help me.
I'm writing this as a reminder to myself.
I'm giving advice to myself here.
Like I always do.
Like we all do...
