Most of your friends don’t want you to succeed. They don’t want you to be able to break free. They want you to fail.
Maybe not consciously. But unconsciously. And when I say your friends I don’t mean all of your friends. But most of your friends.
You know. The ones who are constantly complaining about their jobs and how they hate it. Those are the ones I’m talking about. Maybe also all your other friends. I don’t know.
Because what it would mean when you succeed at breaking free and building your own life is that their way of living life, the way they bought into as the only way, the way they constantly complain about, was a bad choice.
And that’s why your friends want you to fail. Consciously or unconsciously. It doesn’t matter. They don’t want you to be able to break free.
As long as they’re better off than you, then everything is ok. And you know what? That’s totally fine.
Everyone wants to protect his or her way of living life as the only way. As the best way. I’m no different. I also want to protect my way as much as I can.
So just try to remember this the next time you’re looking for support or when you’re upset about the lack of support from your friends…
