There's something interesting happening online right now. It's actually been happening the whole time already..
The barriers to producing content are now lower than they've ever been before. And everybody wants to become a producer. Everybody realized the opportunities. And everybody is trying to jump on those opportunities.
Everybody is busy trying to cash in on the big content publishing machinery. Everybody wants a piece of the pie. And everybody is trying to grab the dream of becoming a self publishing content millionaire.
One of the biggest buzz words out there is personal branding. And it's fueled by all of these new platforms out there.
You know, everybody is writing stuff on Medium that no one reads. Millions of books are being self published on Amazon that no one reads. And hundreds of thousands of people are live streaming stuff on Periscope that no one watches.
The truth is that there simply aren't enough people left to consume all of this content anymore. Because everybody is busy producing content.
But is the consumer really dying?
I don't think so. I think that the consumer is just changing habits.
A few years ago people were happy with just consuming content. What consumers now want is content that teaches them how to become a producer themselves.
Well, not exactly. The new trend seem to be to agencies producing content for individuals.
And I'm not talking about celebrities here. I'm talking about that self published author or that blogger who's struggling to sell his books online. Who's struggling to build his brand online.
And I think that's where the future lies. At least for the next 5-10 years. That's where great opportunities will start to pop up. More and more. That's where great opportunities already popped up.
With more and more people wanting to become producers themselves, with more people willing to build their brands online, we're going to see a hell lot more agencies popping up that will help people do the hard work.
So instead of taking a course on Udemy you will just call that book publishing agency that will write your book for a few grants, while you still work your day job.
Or that blogging agency that's going to write blog posts for your personal website. Or that Medium publication where you can publish your blog post for a few bucks.
I think that's the future. And a pretty big opportunity. Agencies offering services to people who want to become producers but are struggling with getting their work out there. Getting recognized. Or even getting their work done.
More and more people will want to start building their brands online while they still have a job. And that's why there will also be a lot of money involved.
To the agencies out there who are already doing this kind of stuff, kudos. To the folks who have been thinking about doing this, kudos.
And everybody who's not believing in those opportunities, take a look at those Kindle Self Publishing courses that sell for $300+. People are buying those courses like hot dogs..
Now imagine the size of the opportunity we're looking at when you offer the whole package where people don't even have to write the whole book anymore. I think those are the really big opportunities.
Sure, this is only going to last as long as it takes until people realize that only the top 1% in every field is going to make a living. But this will probably take another 5-10 years. Or more..
