A breakup gets you down.
Not getting acknowledged for your work gets you down.
Not getting that promotion gets you down.
Being screamed at gets you down.
Losing a loved one gets you down.
There are so many things in life that get us down.
All the time.
And at one point in time our bank account filled with energy to get back up again is empty.
No getting-back-up cash left. All gone. Forever.
So we stay down.
We decide to not do the hard things anymore.
We stop doing the risky things.
The things that might not work out.
The things that might get us down again.
So the question is how do you fill up that bank account?
I really don’t know. I don’t know you.
There’s no one-for-all recipe. We’re all different.
And what might work for me might not work for you.
What works for me though is to have a few things that give me energy. Instead of only doing things that suck the life out of me.
In my case the stuff that gives me energy is doing something I enjoy doing. In your case it might be your wife. Your husband. Or whatevver.
For me it’s writing stuff like this. Or randomly walking around in the city. And taking pictures of random things.
What happens when you work on too many things, on things that only suck all the life energy out of you and none of these things really work out, you need to find something that gives you energy.
Something you can do without having to rely on someone or something else.
Something that speaks to your inner self deep down inside of you.
That inner artist inside of you. Or that inner musician deep down inside of you. Or painter. Or whatever. It doesn’t matter.
The only thing that matters is that you don’t go broke.
That you constantly come up with ideas and ways to fill up that bank account. That you do more of the things that give you energy.
Because if you don’t you’ll go broke.
And you won’t just go broke financially.
You’ll go broke financially, physically, spiritually and emotionally..
