You can't sell out when you do what you love. As a matter of fact you have to do everything you can to keep doing what you love. No matter what. You owe it to yourself. And the people around you. Heck, even the entire world.
Look. The only way you'll ever be the best version of yourself, the only way you'll be able to create your best work is when you do something you love. Something you actually enjoy doing.
On the other hand, when you do something you hate or don't really like that much, you'll always be able to create just mediocre work.
So whenever you've found something you love, something you know deep down inside of you, you should be doing, then you'd have to find ways to keep doing it for as long as possible. Do whatever it takes. No matter what. And never stop.
Even if some people might tell you that you're selling out, you need to keep pushing. It doesn't matter how you pay your bills or what you do to be able to keep doing your thing (as long as it's legal). Don't listen to the people telling you that you're selling out.
Here's the thing about those people. The folks who are telling you that you're selling out are usually the ones who are selling out. The ones who go to a job every single day they don't like. Where they do things they don't like. Just to get a paycheck at the end of each month, trading time for money.
And to me, that's selling out. But when you try to find ways to make ends meet so you can do the things you enjoy doing, when you try to find or follow your passion, you'll never be selling out.
What you're actually doing is that your buying in. You're buying into the best investment out there. You're investing in yourself...
